I found this particularly interesting given the discussion that we had in English class revolving Coleridge and Kubla Khan and the artist’s desire to create and transcend. These quote give an interesting perspective. It portrays the artist not as the creator, one who is ambitious achieve transcendence, but rather, someone who is able to identify the nuances of beauty in our world, ‘steal’, assemble and present it as their own workd.
